We continue to introduce Soviet topographic maps (published after WWII till 1990). In a separate section we presenting the description of maps in scale 1:500000 (1 cm. - 5 km.). Maps of this scale belong to group of operational maps. |

We continue introducing soviet era (after WWII) cartographic materials (focus on territory of Lithuania). At chapter Aero picture we presenting short overview of First aero photographic picture (1945-1952) after WWII on territory of Lithuania made by soviet military institutions. |

In chapter USSR (1945-1990) maps we presenting a brief outline of maps issued by the military and civilian authorities after World War II in USSR (some words about nomenclature, projections and coordinates systems). Presentation starts with a 1:1000000 scale maps (international map). Gradually, we planing introduce maps from small to large scale. |

We methodized and added new information to section of RKKA (Рабоче-крестьянская Красная армия, Workers and Peasants Red Army) S1:50000 maps. Till WWII RKKA topographers prepared and published two editions of RKKA S1:50000 maps (territory of Lithuania). RKKA maps were prepared using material of old survey (0,5-verst, 1-verst survey) from Russian empire (till WWI) period, newest cartographic material (Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish maps). |
