After III-rd partition of Poland and Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1795 Prussia obtain part of Poland and Grand Duchy of Lithuania. New territories compose administrative unit- New Ost Preussen
(New east Prussia). For military and economical purposes in 1795 producing new accurate map was started. Leader of survey was von Stein, general Levin von Geusau (1734-1808) was a leader of triangulation work. Survey made by Prussian topographers had one Basis in present territory of Lithuania (near Simnas).

Triangulation points: Kudirkos Naumiestis (Neustadt), Virbalis (Wirballen), Šukiai (Schuckeln), Liukiai (Lucken), Gražiškiai (Grasziski), Bambiniai (Bambiniki), Šleinės (Sleiny), Smalnyčėnai (Smolnica), Liubavas (Lubowo), Liudvinavas (Ludwinowo), Kalvarija (Kalwary), Trakėnai (Trokiany), Pelucmargiai (Polucmorgi), Kūlokai (Kulacken), Varnupiai (Warnupian), Daukšiai (Dauksze), Šlavančiai (Slawant), Skersabaliai (Skirsobale), Krosna (Krasno), Rudamina (Urdominnen, 2 points), Simnas (Simno), Kalesninkai (Kalleszniki), Ponkiškiai (Pankowcen), Krokialaukis (Krakopol), Likiškėliai (Likiszky), Miroslavas (Miroslaw), Laukintukai (Lokintan), Meteliai (Metellen), Seirijai (Serrey), Ostampas (Janczuki), Riečiai (Rzeczewo).
In 1800 survey was finished, new set of 122 maps was drawn (in one exemplar). Set of maps had name - "Military map of the province of New East Prussia" in original - "Krieges karte der Provinz New Ost Preussen".
