USA army maps service, corps of engineers (AMS) after II WW prepared and published series M851, M852, N851 (GSGS 4414) of maps in scale 1:25000 which are covering also territories of Lithuania. Maps from set M852 are covering Lithuania-Poland border, south Lithuania, maps from set N851 are covering west part of Lithuania (Klaipeda district), maps from set M851are covering Lithuania-East Prussia (now Kaliningrad district) border (see index sheet). Maps from sets M851, M852, N851are prepared using German maps in the same scale (messtischblatts, TK25). On frames we can find information about primary sources: Polish WIG 1:25000, German Messtischblatts. Analysis of sources and maps from sets M851, M852, N851 showing that information on frames about primary sources sometimes is not proper or incomplete. All maps from sets M851, M852, N851 are joined by title Poland 1:25000. Numeration of AMS maps from sets M851, M852, N851 is according German Messtischblatts, additionally sheets are named by name of biggest population place. Content to AMS maps is given from German Messtischblatts without changes.

Size of AMS maps from sets M851, M852, N851 as Messtischblatts is 10' longitude x 6' latitude. Longitude is from Greenwich considered.

USA army maps service, corps of engineers (AMS) at the end and after II WW (1944-1946) prepared and published series M651 (GSGS 4614) of maps in scale 1:100000 which are covering territories ofPoland, East Prussia, border Poland-Lithuania and Poland-Belarus (see index sheet). Name of set Poland 1:100000. Maps from set M651are prepared using German maps in scale 1:100000 (1911-1944, also maps from set Karte des westlichen Russlands), 1:25000, Polish WIG maps in scale 1:25000, 1:100000, Lithuanian maps in scale 1:25000, 1:100000, 1:400000. In case that maps from set M651 are compiled using different not equal quality (sometimes very old) material, we consider that this set is tawdry...

Maps from set M651 are numbered by letter indicate rows and number indicate position in row, additionally maps named by name of biggest population place.

Maps are printed in color. Relief is showing by horizontals and by different colors.

USA army maps service, corps of engineers (AMS) after II WW (1952-1958) prepared and published series N501 of maps in scale 1:250000 which are covering territories of East Europe (see index sheet, fragment on Lithuania). Name of set Eastern Europe 1:250000. Maps from set N501are prepared using German, RKKA maps in scale 1:100000, 300000, 1941-1944 aero photographical picture.

Maps from set N501 are numbered according international maps numbering, one sheet of 1:250000 maps is covering 1/12 of international map in scale 1:1000000. Name of 1:250000 maps consists of letter which indicates hemisphere, name of international map and section where is map in scale 1:250000 (ex.: NN-34-6), additionally sheets are named by name of biggest population place.

Name of set - World 1:1000000. Maps from set 1301 are prepared using available cartographical material in the same scale.

AMS maps in scale 1:50000 (sets M752, M753, N701, N705)

USA army maps service, corps of engineers (AMS) after II WW (1952-till 1980*)) prepared and published series M752, M753, N701, N705 of maps in scale 1:50000 which are covering territories of Poland, East Prussia/Kaliningrad district, Lithuania and Belarus (see index sheet). Maps were prepared using German maps in scale 1:25000, Polish maps in scale 1:25000, 1:100000, Soviet maps in various scale, other cartographic material. On maps of later publishing original material is not given.

Maps from sets M752, M753, N701 were printed in color, maps from set N705 were publisched in one color.

Size of maps 15' latitudex20' longitude which was considered from Greenwich.

Maps were named by number and name of biggest township. Number consists of 4 Arabian numbers: 2 first numbers schow column, second 2 - row where map is, last Roman number (I-IV) shows position of map in quadrat.

Relief was shown by horizontals.
