What is aim of maps4u.lt?
Aim of the project - introducing to historical cartography, to complement and enrich personal (and respected surfers) collection of maps, according to the possibilities accessing as examples some old maps...
How content and maps are selected introducing cartographic heritage?
Maps4u team uses all available (sources: internet, libraries, personal education and experience) material. Maps4u doesn’t have objectives to provide all maps for downloading: by introducing into heritage of cartography we pursue discovering history, mapping and historical maps. Some maps can be presented as examples and heritage.
All researchers can contribute maps4u.lt project by giving ideas, cartographic material, historical maps and articles.
How to download maps?
All content on maps4u.lt is “as is”. Maps mostly are given as examples in zoomify format (not downloadable). For researchers who desire have content (maps, literature) on own PC we propose cooperation (see abow).
